Questlove + HBO Announce ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’ Documentary

Debuting on HBO and HBO Max In 2026.

HBO Documentary Films has joined the production of a new untitled documentary film project about Earth, Wind & Fire from Academy Award and Grammy winner Questlove.

The film from Fifth Season is produced by RadicalMedia, Two One Five Entertainment, Broken Halo Entertainment, and Word Is Bond in association with Sony Music Vision.

Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson states; “I’m honored to tell the story of Earth, Wind & Fire and the deep meaning behind their message and music. To grow up listening to the music is one thing but to be handed the keys to the kingdom of preserving history is another. I can’t imagine a better platform on which to share this documentary with U.S. audiences than HBO.

The film examines the iconic group’s lasting legacy, cultural impact, and enduring body of work.

It will feature exclusive access to the band’s archives of visual, audio, and written material.

The Documentary will debut in the United States in 2026 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

Fresh off of the successful CBS and The Recording Academy‘s “Earth, Wind & Fire Live: The 21st Night of September” special.
